Je demande des conseils pour diagnostiquer un R710 exécutant xen sur Debian Stretch qui panique une fois par jour.
Le serveur fonctionnera correctement pendant environ 24 heures et finira par déclencher une panique du noyau, généralement vers bxn2. (Le système ne répond plus et nécessite généralement un redémarrage. Après le redémarrage, le système fonctionne bien mais finit par paniquer.
J'ai un serveur identique en cours d'exécution qui ne se bloque pas lorsqu'il n'a qu'un ou deux vm mais qui se bloque lorsque tous les vm sont exécutés à partir du système. J'ai également un autre R710 avec un H700 qui exécute ~10 vms sans problème.
J'ai également des problèmes pour recréer la panique. À un moment donné, j'ai été en mesure de planter de manière fiable le deuxième serveur en chargeant le processeur au maximum et en effectuant des entrées-sorties élevées. (sha1sum /dev/zero et dd).
Les spécifications du Dell R710 sont les suivantes :
- 2x 4core cpu
- 72 Go de RAM
- SAS 6/iR intégré Version du firmware : 00.25.47.00.06.22.03.00
- SAS6 passant à 1x disque os 1tb, 2x disque 2tb dans la matrice mdadm (03:00.0 Contrôleur de stockage SCSI : LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1068E PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS (rev 08))
- Broadcom NetExtreeme 2 nic. (01:00.0 Contrôleur Ethernet : Broadcom Limited NetXtreme II BCM5709 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 20))
- Tous les bios et firmware mis à jour avec le contrôleur de cycle de vie.
Il fonctionne sous Debian Stretch avec les détails suivants :

Jusqu'à présent, j'ai essayé les éléments suivants (seuls et en différentes combinaisons) :
- Désactiver MSIX pour bnx2. modprobe bnx2 disable_msi=1
- Désactiver MSIX pour mpt3sas. modprobe mpt3sas msix_disable=1
- Ajouté intremap=off au noyau et désactivé la virtualisation Intel via le BIOS pour éviter l'errata du chipset Intel 55x0. https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX136517
- Diminution de vm.dirty_background_ratio=5 et vm.dirty_ratio=10 pour éviter le plantage du serveur Linux avec "INFO : task blocked for more than 120 seconds".
- Régler le rx nic plus haut et augmenter net.core.netdev_max_backlog=30000 comme prévu https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/37727/solving-ethernet-watchdog-timer-deadlocks

mise à jour 20170926 - J'ai mis à jour la deuxième machine avec 2 cartes nic intel à double port et désactivé bnx2 et la machine continue de planter. Sans aucun domU's, la première machine est restée en place pendant 6 jours.
