J'ai posté cette question sur les forums de la communauté AMD, mais j'ai décidé de le poster également ici car il semblait pertinent pour Ubuntu.
Je semble avoir des problèmes pour installer le dernier pilote sur Ubuntu Server. J'ai installé amdgpu-pro 18.2 sur Ubuntu 18.04 dans le passé mais je n'arrive pas du tout à installer le pilote amdgpu-pro 18.40-676022 (Download Not Complete | AMD from Radeon™ Software for Linux® 18.40 Highlights | AMD ) sur une nouvelle installation d'Ubuntu Server 18.04.1. J'ai téléchargé le pilote deux fois et vérifié que les deux avaient les mêmes sommes de contrôle SHA256 (existe-t-il un dépôt officiel des sommes de contrôle du pilote ?).
Il ne fonctionne ni tout seul ni avec des drapeaux

J'ai également essayé de mettre à jour le pilote 18.2 en 18.4 sur le serveur ubuntu 18.04 et cela a causé des problèmes et maintenant je ne peux même pas désinstaller amdgpu-pro sur le serveur 18.04 pour rétrograder en 18.2.

Peut-être est-ce un problème avec les dépôts Ubuntu ou autre.J'ai essayé d'installer le pilote AMD 18.40 dans une machine virtuelle (Ubuntu Desktop 18.04.1, Ubuntu Desktop 16.04.5, Ubuntu Server 16.04.5, Ubuntu Server 18.04.1).
- Desktop 18 : semble s'installer mais donne une erreur :
WARNING: amdgpu dkms failed for running kernel (en supposant que cela a quelque chose à voir avec la machine virtuelle)
- Desktop 16 : même chose que Desktop 18
- Serveur 16 : semble s'installer sans problème
Serveur 18 : mêmes problèmes que ci-dessus, j'ai aussi essayé avec les pilotes AMD 18.20 et 18.30 et aucun n'a fonctionné, tous ont donné

J'ai essayé de changer le miroir dans l'installation du serveur 18.04.1 de
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntuahttp://ao.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntupuisque c'est le miroir que le bureau semble utiliser, mais ça ne semble rien faire.Confirmation du fonctionnement sur Ubuntu Desktop 18.04.1. J'ai installé Ubuntu Desktop 18.04.1 sur une clé USB et j'ai pu installer amd-gpu-pro 18.40 et l'exécuter avec succès avec un RX 470.
Il ne s'installe toujours pas sur le serveur Ubuntu 18.04.1 et je ne sais toujours pas pourquoi.
