Y a-t-il un moyen de se débarrasser de la traduction ? Je suis fatigué de voir que cela entraîne des tonnes de vérifications de référentiels au lieu de vérifier beaucoup moins de référentiels (69 référentiels réels contre 169 vérifications).

Pour désactiver le téléchargement des traductions, créez un fichier nommé /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/99translations et y mettre ce qui suit :

Acquire::Languages "none";

Vous devrez peut-être aussi supprimer les fichiers de traduction existants dans /var/lib/apt/lists/

Pour mémoire (puisque certains vont trébucher sur ce point ), le fichier 99Translations ci-dessus fera vomir apt - supprimez la ligne "Packages : *" - la seule ligne est suffisante :

Acquire::Languages "none";

De plus, apt récupérera toujours les fichiers pour votre langue locale.

Activez le pipelining pour regrouper ces demandes, ce qui est beaucoup plus rapide :

Acquire::http { Pipeline-Depth "200"; }

Mais d'après mon expérience, cela peut entraîner des téléchargements interrompus ; les codes d'erreur http semblent s'enchaîner ou quelque chose comme ça. Cela devrait être assez sûr si vous parlez à apt-cacher-ng (en mode miroir ou en mode proxy). Sinon, soyez prêt à le désactiver si votre miroir se casse.

Je vous déconseille de définir les langues à none parce que ça casse apt-cache search (aucun signifie aucun, alors que des recherches utiles nécessiteraient des descriptions dans au moins une langue). La valeur par défaut basée sur la langue locale comprend des variantes régionales inutiles, mais quelque chose comme ceci :

Acquire::Languages { "fr"; "en"; };

est raisonnable.

Je ne voulais pas télécharger les fichiers de traduction allemands d'APT. Ainsi, en tant que compris j'ai mis explicitement dans un nouveau /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/99translations avec dans l'ordre d'abord les traductions en anglais puis celles en français :

Acquire::Languages { "en"; "none"; };

J'ai supprimé tous les fichiers de traduction allemands existants via rm -v /var/lib/apt/lists/*i18n_Translation-de* .

Avant :

root# apt-config dump | grep Languages
Acquire::Languages "";
Acquire::Languages:: "de_DE";
Acquire::Languages:: "de";
Acquire::Languages:: "en";
Acquire::Languages:: "none";

Après :

root# apt-config dump | grep Languages
Acquire::Languages "";
Acquire::Languages:: "en";
Acquire::Languages:: "none";

S'il y a plusieurs utilisateurs avec des $LANGUAGE le réglage recommandé devrait être (ici : avec l'ordre 1. environnement 2. anglais 3. aucun) :

Acquire::Languages { "environment"; "en"; "none"; };

AFAICS c'est le paramètre par défaut (voir la sortie de la section "Avant :" ci-dessus).

J'ai trouvé ceci alors que je cherchais aussi une solution. C'était une nouvelle installation de Debian testing. La commande suivante (comme suggéré ci-dessus) a réglé le problème :

sudo rm -r /var/lib/apt/lists/*
