Impossible de localiser le paquet libc6-dbg:i386 dans docker

J'essaie d'installer libc6-dbg:i386 dans un conteneur docker basé sur Ubuntu car j'en ai besoin pour Valgrind, mais je n'y arrive pas.

Étant donné le fichier Docker suivant :

FROM ubuntu:14.04

MAINTAINER Me <xyz@example.com>

RUN apt-get update
RUN apt-get install libc6-dbg
RUN apt-get install libc6-dbg:i386

Fonctionne sur un ordinateur Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit :

sudo docker build .

Je reçois :

Sur l'hôte, je peux installer libc6-dbg:i386, pourquoi ne puis-je pas l'installer dans le conteneur Docker ?

Je répondrai moi-même à cette question.

Les informations nécessaires à cette fin se trouvent à l'adresse suivante https://wiki.debian.org/Multiarch/HOWTO .

Apt dans l'image officielle de docker ubuntu et aussi dans phusion/baseimage est configuré seulement avec le support pour l'amd64. C'est ce qu'il vous dit si vous le demandez :

# dpkg --print-architecture
amd64
# dpkg --print-foreign-architectures
<no output>

Pour remédier à ce problème, il faut ajouter une autre architecture avant l'élément apt-get update :

# dpkg --add-architecture i386
# apt-get update
<lots of lines>
# apt-get install libc6-dbg:i386
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree       
Reading state information... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
  gcc-4.9-base:i386 libc6:i386 libgcc1:i386
Suggested packages:

Essayez d'ajouter la ligne suivante avant apt-get update dans votre fichier Docker :

RUN echo "deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu precise main universe" > /etc/apt/sources.list
