Comment faire fonctionner une souris USB externe (mod. Minicute EZMouse) avec Ubuntu ?

Je viens d'installer Xubuntu 14.04. Tout fonctionne bien sauf la souris USB externe.

Voici la souris que j'essaie d'utiliser . Le fabricant indique dans sa fiche technique qu'il devrait fonctionner sous Linux.

Quand je cours lsusb la souris n'est pas présente :

UPDATE :

Le PC est un ordinateur portable Asus avec une installation propre de Xubuntu 14.04.

J'ai activé la prise en charge USB Legacy dans le BIOS et maintenant cela fonctionne de manière "aléatoire" lorsque je débranche et rebranche la souris. Parfois cela fonctionne, parfois non. Si je trouve d'autres indices, j'en parlerai ici.
